New Orleans Metro Area Real Estate Sales
The New Orleans area real estate market showed signs of stabilizing in 2009. After abnormally high volume in 2006, total volume fell 28% and 24% in 2007 and 2008, respectively. in 2009, overall volume fell 6.7% but some areas rebounded showing interest in those area. The data shows price rebounds in some areas and continued weakness in others.

Some sections of town saw increased volume in 2009 over 2008. Note: The bar for Orleans does not include New Orleans East (NOE) or Algiers. Algiers is included in Westbank. Jefferson is mostly East Jefferson south of Airline Hwy. The Saints bar includes St. Charles, St. John and other points West of Jefferson Parish.
